We aim high - to Astound - by being the Agency with the best in contemporary children's book illustration, and both licensing and commercial art from around the world.

We back that up with excellence in every aspect: from the first presentation, to how we project manage, and all the way through to how we invoice.

We Astound by being good at what we do with a snappy, can-do, enthusiastic, talented and creative attitude. And yes, we're not expensive.

All those things that make for an 'astounding' outcome.

Our promise to artists: career advancement with the right clients, regular creative guidance, strong administrative support and on time payment

Drawn to better.

Be drawn to better.

No matter where you are in the world or at whichever stage of your freelance artist career you may be, we're passionate about helping your career be more successful and rewarding by creating the art you love most! We are on your side: we'll give you insider's tips and client feedback for your folio development, and also introduce you directly to leading children's publishing houses, greeting card companies, jigsaw puzzle and game manufacturers, poster and decorative product suppliers (tableware, stationery)… the list goes on!

We're here to discuss the artistic direction you'd like to pursue and make that a reality with you.

Our positive relationships with our artists have made us the most rapidly growing Artist Agency in New York, possibly the USA. Here in the center of the publishing world, we are just a few subway stops away from the biggest brands worldwide, but we don't stay local - our agents travel everywhere to showcase your portfolio (and custom-made promotional materials!), from coast to coast in the USA, to major fairs in Europe: Frankfurt, Bologna, London and beyond.

We spread the word about your talent through personalized mail-outs, regular correspondence with close contacts in the industry, and online campaigns in addition to our state of the art site - all free to you!

Our partnership with Collaborate Agency's highly experienced team of editors and designers means that we can also support you in developing original children's book ideas into full-fledged storybooks and presentations, which we bring to the biggest children's book fairs of the year.

Best of all, we make sure you're paid right on time.

Astound us! If you'd like to learn more and be represented by Astound US, please email contact@astound.us with a sampling of your favorite pieces (8-10 .jpgs under 2MB each).

Top 10 Rainy Days March 8 2019

Top 10

For this Week’s Top 10 we Look to the Weather and the Atmosphere that Rainy Days Bring

We’ve all had those days where we’ve been stuck out in the rain and soaked through. But there is something magical and emotive about rain that makes it a great subject matter for artists to capture. However, capturing this feeling can be difficult. We’ve put together some artists who show the atmosphere of rain in a variety of ways – from sheeting swathes to hazy drizzle, we have an artist to suit your rainy day project!

So settle in and browse through our collection, maybe with a warming cup of tea to truly capture that cosy feeling! Get in touch with us if you have a rain filled picture book that you need artists for!  #RainyDay #AstoundingArtists

Alessia Trunfio – Alessia has really added movement and drama in this piece – it’s as though you can hear the triumphant music as this little mouse scrambles onto the branch. The determination is evident in his face.

Odessa Sawyer – This sweet scene between a boy and his father sitting on a slope is made all the more enigmatic by the hazy use of rain and lighting. This father pulls his son in close – relationships are made stronger in moments like this.

Marie-Noelle Horvath – Marie-Noelle’s rabbit looks content beneath his bright yellow umbrella as he is protected from the rain. It looks like a couple of friends are also trying to take advantage of this fetching coverage!

Kelly Caswell – Even dogs need protecting from the rain and this little girl and her friend are hunkering down whilst this storm passes. Their emotional bond is clearly evident.

Khoa Le – Whilst many shelter from the rain, this lady is basking in it as it helps her flowers bloom. Khoa uses strong contrasting colours to add drama to this scene.

Gabe Alborozo – Left outside alone! This emotive piece from Gabe really connects with an audience – you can almost feel the sheeting rain. The warmth of the light offers hope and we love the effect of the puddles reflecting this light.

Jake Hill – Umbrella’s are a great opportunity to extend the hand of friendship and Jake manages to capture the look of gratitude in his graphic piece.

Yee Von Chan – This cute scene shows how small these little creatures are as the plants arch up around them providing protection from the rain. As well as offering a refreshing beverage!

Forrest Burdett – Forrest has used a limited colour palette to make this little girl stand out in a world of grey, business men. The assortment of umbrella’s is really fun and seems to match each personality perfectly.

Cedric Abt – Cedric has used an atypical colour palette for his rainy scene along with great use of texture for his assortment of clouds. The patch of yellow from the umbrella lifts the scene and provides the sad little girl some shelter.
