Kelly Caswell is a country girl based in Somerset. She works from her home studio in the seaside town of Clevedon, UK. After completing an Illustration degree at Plymouth University, she worked at a publisher in Bath before going freelance.
Before she starts work, she likes to tune into an audiobook and makes sure she has a cuppa ready to begin her day. She tends to start off projects with lots of sketches and then finalise the drawing digitally. This is where she enjoys experimenting with colour, texture, and adding in extra details to the drawing.
Over the past nine years she has been fortunate enough to have worked on a wonderful variety of projects and have created artwork for storybooks, novelty books, games, toys and greetings cards. She illustrated the book Kat's Great Act, which was part of the Bug Club Series that won an award for 'Best use of Multimedia' at the British Book Design & Production Awards.
Outside the world of illustration she loves food, hot water-bottles and dressing gowns! She is also head chef and chief den maker for my two little monkeys!
