Yoss Sánchez is a Costa Rican illustrator and 2D animator. She graduated from Veritas University as a digital animator, but her area of interest has always been illustration, that’s why after graduating she decided to pursue a career in this field, obtaining her Masters Degree in Children's Book Illustration at Cambridge School of Art, Anglia Ruskin.
Drawing inspiration from movies, old pictures, nature and the "slice of life" genre, Yoss’ artwork is mainly digital, characterized by vibrant and colourful palettes with a strong sense of design. Her favourite thing to portray are animal characters and environments, but she also enjoys drawing quirky portraits and experimenting with screen print and collage.
Many modern illustrators, cinematographers and artists have influenced her work, but also some common but fascinating people around her inspire her; as well as other art fields such as photography and interior design.
In her spare time, she watches documentaries of any kind, watches movies, drinks lots of cups of tea and collects unnecessary sketchbooks that she will never use (but are a must).
