Judith was born and raised in the Ruhr Area in Germany. In her childhood she wanted either to become an astrophysicist and find extraterrestrial life or begin a career as an archaeologist - of course to discover unknown species of dinosaurs. But then she fell in love with art and stories.
So she studied Illustration and completed her degree in 2010. Since then she has been working as a freelance illustrator mainly in the fields of children's book publishing and licensing. And it is the most marvellous job she can imagine.
Judith loves to paint with different media like gouache, watercolour and coloured pencils or textures made of acrylic paint. But she also works digitally and likes to combine these both worlds in her work. Her favourite subjects are definitely cute animals - especially cats. A constant inspiration are her two red cats Araki and Frida, who often sit on her working table and watch her while she creates her art.
In her freetime Judith grows a little collection of succulents - the only plants that survive her care. She also crochets clothing while listening to music, audio books and radio plays. Watching TV series or films is another way of relaxing for her. In fact she is a very visual person and loves every kind of storytelling and visiting imaginative worlds.
