Claire Almon lives and works in warm and sunny Atlanta, Georgia. Although she grew up in the south, her army doctor dad moved her large family from country to country and state to state when she was a kid cultivating a love for different cultures at an early age. Moving around so much with so many people forces one to become flexible and approach life with humor and that comes through loud and clear in her work.
Because of her training in both illustration and animation, Claire specializes in creating fun, dynamic characters full of life and wit. She is interested in a variety of styles and mediums including watercolor, pen and ink, pastel and digital among others. Although she can work in several styles, her voice always comes through with strong narrative and emotional qualities as a common thread.
Claire holds a BFA in illustration from Ringling College of Art and Design and an MFA in animation from Savannah College of art and design. She has experience working on a variety of projects for clients in art licensing and TV animation among others and has taught character design at Savannah College of Art and Design.
When not making art, Claire enjoys dancing, napping, hanging out with her friends and being an aunt to her 6 nieces. She’s also an avid pop culture and television fan and is trying to become a green-thumb.
