Born and raised in South London, England, Mike grew up with an innate love of drawing and was rarely to be seen without either a pencil in hand or his nose stuck in a comic or illustrated book. This lasted into adulthood, through college, and saw him through several terrible jobs until he found that he could scribble for a living, which pleased him to no end!
Mike has been a fulltime concept artist in the game industry for 16 years, which means that he spends most of his days creating strange characters, beasties, and worlds for gamers to enjoy. His work has been featured in various industry publications and included as part of various exhibitions. Art wise, Mike is drawn to anything incredible, fantastical, and otherworldly, his artistic heroes being figures such as Arthur Rackham, Maurice Sendak, Gustav Klimt, Edward Gorey, and Iain McCaig.
Now living down by the sea on the south coast of England with his wife and cats, Mike sketches, reads, plays the guitar badly and explores the surrounding countryside. He is in the process of writing and illustrating his first graphic novel in a trilogy of stories by his best friend, author and poet Tony Mayle.
