Udayana was born in Russia, but grew up in Mexico City. She can’t remember ever not drawing. She studied product design in Mexico, and did her masters in Italy. Life took her back
to Mexico, then to the UK and finally to Vancouver, Canada, where she currently resides with her husband and two kids. It was in England that she decided to become an illustrator. She took online classes and practiced a lot from her home studio. She carries a sketchbook where she draws whatever catches her attention, mostly people or animals. She uses a variety of traditional media, and her sketchbooks smell of hairspray, which she uses to fix her drawings. Udayana is an avid reader. She devours historical fiction, and can’t resist a whodunit. She also has a vast picture book collection, which she passes as her children’s personal library.
