Sean Longcroft was born in sunny Bournemouth and grew up below the rolling downs, by the cress beds, trout ponds and bluebell woods of a Wiltshire village. Inspired by the natural beauty he grew up in, and by the books and comics loved by his family, Sean drew and wrote from the moment he could hold a pencil.
Now living with his lovely partner and two sons in the British Riviera of Brighton, Sean loves making artwork which is immediate, friendly and fresh. He’s at his happiest when breathing life and individual personality into each of the people and animals he creates. After years of resistance, he came to love his drawing tablet and software, finding a freedom and endless possibilities to pursue his love of composition, colour and clear line.
When he isn’t drawing, Sean runs his local children’s village cricket team, as well as cycling along the coast and downs, and lending a hand on the steam railway.
Sean’s experience in comic strips, public campaigns and graphic design all inform and enrich his first love- Making illustrations for children which grown ups can adore.
