Barbara Bongini
Barbara Bongini is an illustrator from Milan. Ever since she was a child, she knew she would become an artist. She attended an arts high school before attending the IED in Milan with a specialization in illustration. After graduating, Barbara started her career as a children’s book illustrator, illustrating a range of stories with various themes. Barbara started creating art with traditional painting techniques, acrylics, watercolor, and colored pencils, but she fell in love with digital art because she could create particular textures and brushes that make the images very personal. Throughout her career, Barbara has had the opportunity to work with many publishing houses in Italy and abroad. She loves taking on new projects that challenge her to grow as an artist and a person. Barbara has also created a cartoon series “Nefertine on the Nile” and is the author and illustrator of a children’s album. She is constantly inspired by nature and animals! While working, she listens to classical or alternative rock music or historical podcasts. She is often joined by her cat Achilles. Barabar really loves children’s books. One of her favorite authors is Gianni Rodari and she loves to read “Favole al telefono” to her children. When she is not working, Barbara enjoys spending time with her family and engaging in her hobbies, the most important being modeling and painting ceramics.
