Elena Hager
Elena Hager is a Russian-American artist currently based in Atlanta, GA, USA. She was born and raised in Moscow, Russia. Her love of drawing and painting began with the first time she held a crayon as a child. She worked with oil paint on canvas for eight years and studied for a year to be a fine painting restorer, but had to leave when she moved to the United States. Her paintings can be found in many private collections, and one is on display at the Dougherty County Court House in Albany, Georgia—a painting of the beloved late Honorable Stephen S. Goss. She enjoys reading books with her son, and those treasured moments reminded her of her innermost dream to become a children’s book illustrator, to create vivid, vibrant, colorful art for children. Elena believes that books soften our hearts and teach us kindness and empathy, and help to direct us through life. Her mission as an illustrator is to be that connecting bridge between a child and a book and—even more—between a child and a parent. Her first book was Tiki Tholley Reads Her Reflection with Orange Hat Publishing, and she learned so much from the process! She looks forward to creating and exploring even more!
