Emily Boughton is an illustrator based just outside London, in Hertford. Growing up, she loved anything creative and went on to complete a diploma in fine arts and illustration after finishing school. However, she then ended up working as an intensive care nurse for seven years. Although she found the work rewarding, she always missed the joy that being creative brought and decided to focus on her artwork again. Emily is happiest when designing new characters and their stories. She loves to explore emotions and interactions in her work. Emily mainly works digitally and loves the freedom that it brings, but often finds inspiration by experimenting in her sketchbook with colours and textures. When not illustrating, you can find Emily knitting jumpers and dancing ballet. Her dream project is to illustrate a book of ballet stories!
