Francisco Santoyo is a Mexican Illustrator, concept artist, storyteller, and educator, based in Guadalajara, Jalisco. His work is inspired by his childhood obsessions, the vast landscapes and bright colors he grew up with, and the legends and stories of Mexican folklore. After graduating with a B.A. in animation, he decided making characters move was too time consuming and decided to pursue a Master’s degree in visual development at the Academy of Art in San Francisco. With his passion rekindled Francisco found his calling in Illustration and visual storytelling. As an educator, Francisco tries to inspire college art students through knowledge, stories, and professional experiences. In his free time, he is currently trying to brew the perfect espresso shot.
